A Quick Update

As of yesterday, we’ve delivered over 1000 masks and we will have given out 100 bottles of hand sanitizer as well as 50 gowns.  Here’s the news though – We were asked by the Emergency Operations Center in Lynn asking for masks and sanitizer for “…critical service organization like My Brother’s Table, the Lynn Shelter, Salvation Army, Greater Lynn Senior Services, and others”.  This is a huge plus – it gets our masks and supplies out into various sectors of the community we are unable to reach, and centralizes access into a much more efficient distribution network.

We put out a call for more N95 fabric, and we now have a “…roll big enough for the entire Northeast”.  We’re short on elastic (1/8″ to 1/4″ flat is preferable) but the latest hack is to cut apart bungee cords, which we will be doing if we need to.  (Update: elastic has come in, and more on the way!)

We’re trying to get supplies for hand sanitizer, and there’s a lot of price gouging and scamming for the aloe vera out there, and isopropyl alcohol (the main ingredient) is all but unobtainable.  We’re still working on it.  As of today we have supplies for another 100 4oz bottles.

If you have any supplies – elastic and isopropyl, primarily, you can donate please shoot me an email.  This will go a long way to protect our “front line” – those folks who don’t have access to medical grade equipment but keep people fed, clothed and out of harm’s way.  Can you sew?  Shoot me a message or an email and I can get you supplies.

As always, “…keep making stuff. Take care of people, play nice and clean up after yourselves!”
